# Quick Start

> Get started with PropOps Web in minutes — log in, complete onboarding, configure your first branch, and create your first maintenance job.

This guide walks you through signing in, completing the first-time setup, and raising your first maintenance job.

## Log in

    Open the URL provided by your administrator — for example, `https://web.example.com`. PropOps Web runs in any modern browser.

    <Tip>
      Install PropOps Web as an app so it opens in its own window and you receive push notifications. In your browser, look for an **Install** or **Add to Home Screen** option in the address bar or the browser menu.

  <Step title="Enter your credentials">
    Enter the email address and password provided by your administrator (or set during registration) and click **Sign in**.

    If you have forgotten your password, click **Forgot password** on the login page. You can request up to three reset emails every 15 minutes.

  <Step title="Pass any security checks">
    Depending on your account type and login conditions, you may be redirected to a security check before reaching your dashboard. See [Security checks](#security-checks) below for what to expect.

## Security checks

PropOps Web includes several security gates that protect your account. When triggered, you are redirected to a verification screen and returned to your intended page once you have passed.

### Email verification

If your email address has not been verified, you will see a prompt to enter a code sent to your inbox.

    Type or paste the code into the field on screen and submit it.

  <Step title="Continue to the platform">
    Once verified, you are taken directly to your destination. You will not be asked to verify again unless your email address changes.

<Note>
  Staff accounts do not go through email verification. This check applies to Agents and Contractors.

### Login from a new location

If you sign in from an IP address that PropOps Web has not seen before, it will ask you to confirm your identity.

    PropOps sends a PIN to your registered email address.

  <Step title="Enter the PIN">
    Enter the PIN on the verification screen. Once accepted, your current location is trusted for future logins.

<Tip>
  If you work from multiple locations (home, office, mobile), you will be asked to verify each new IP address the first time you use it. After that, PropOps remembers it.
</Tip>

### Document approval

Some account types — particularly Contractors — must submit identity or certification documents before gaining access. If your documents are pending or have not yet been approved by your administrator, you will see a holding screen explaining the status.

Upload any requested documents through the prompt on screen. Your administrator will review them and approve your account. You will receive a notification once approved.

### Re-authentication

Before accessing sensitive areas such as account settings or security controls, PropOps may ask you to re-enter your password. This protects your account even if someone else has access to your browser session.

Enter your current password when prompted and you will be taken straight to your intended page.

## Complete onboarding

First-time users are guided through a short setup before reaching the dashboard.

    Confirm or fill in your first name, last name, and phone number. Your email address is pre-filled and cannot be changed here.

    Read and accept the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You can also set your email notification preference at this step.

  <Step title="Finish setup">
    Click **Complete Setup**. You are taken to your dashboard and your onboarding is recorded as complete.

## Explore your dashboard

Your dashboard gives you a live snapshot of what is happening across your properties and jobs.

* **Accepted jobs** — jobs currently in progress
* **Recalls** — completed jobs that have been reopened
* **Revenue** — financial summary for the current period
* **New jobs today** — jobs raised since midnight

Widgets on your dashboard are customisable. You can rearrange or hide them to focus on the metrics most relevant to your role.

  The data you see is filtered to your account type and permissions. Agents see activity for their branch; contractors see only their assigned jobs.

## Create your first job

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Jobs">
    In the main navigation, click **Jobs**. This opens the job list for your branch or organisation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click New Job">
    Click the **New Job** button (usually in the top-right corner of the job list).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the job details">
    Complete the required fields:

    * **Property address** — the address where the work is needed
    * **Job type** — the category of work (e.g., plumbing, electrical, general maintenance)
    * **Priority** — how urgently the job needs to be completed
    * **Assigned contractor** — the trade professional who will carry out the work

    You can also add a description, set an SLA deadline, and attach any relevant documents at this stage.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit the job">
    Click **Create Job**. PropOps Web records the job, notifies relevant parties, and begins SLA tracking automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Track and communicate">
    Open the job record to add case notes, upload photos or documents, and communicate with the Agent, Private Client or Contractor.
  </Step>

## Install PropOps on your device

PropOps Web is a Progressive Web App — you can add it to your home screen or taskbar without visiting an app store.

**On a desktop browser (Chrome, Edge):**

1. Look for the install icon in the address bar (a computer screen with a download arrow).
2. Click it and select **Install**.
3. PropOps Web opens in its own window and appears in your applications list.

**On an iPhone or iPad:**

1. Open PropOps Web in Safari.
2. Tap the **Share** icon (the box with an arrow pointing up).
3. Scroll down and tap **Add to Home Screen**.
4. Tap **Add** to confirm.

**On Android:**

1. Open PropOps Web in Chrome.
2. Tap the three-dot menu.
3. Tap **Add to Home Screen** and follow the prompt.

Once installed, push notifications work the same as a native app — you will receive job updates, security alerts, and messages even when PropOps Web is not open in your browser.
